Position Summary
The AUT Operator is responsible for using a specific NDT technique (AUT) to evaluate the properties of a material, component or system without causing damage.

Duties & Responsibilities
Key HSE and Quality responsibilities
- Supporting the implementation of the Oceaneering HSE & Quality Core Processes and HSE & Quality objectives and Action Improvement plans;
- Providing support for the Oceaneering Crisis Management Team, where required;
- Involvement in the review and approval process for corporate and site Management System documentation;
- Support & participate in HSE & Quality Audits;
- Responsibility for his/her own health and safety and that of other persons affected by his/her activities; and
- For managers and supervisors, actively leading HSE & Quality initiatives and demonstrating HSE & Quality leadership; and
Responsibilities and key performance indicators
- Define the limitations of application of the testing method
- Set up and verify equipment settings
- Perform and supervise tests
- Interpret and evaluate results according to applicable standards, codes, specifications or procedures
- Ensure all AUT equipment is suitable and operational during the project
- Maintain AUT systems
- Ensure work is performed expeditiously and in accordance with agreed procedures
- Reporting relevant data clearly and accurately and daily electronic backups are made Maintain logs of component changes and repairs to AUT equipment.

Qualifications
Mandatory
- Trained and examined as an ASNT and/or CSWIP AUT Operator and Interpreter and holding current certification in same (PCN or ASNT qualified in UT)
- CSWIP or ASNT qualified in PA AUT
Desirable
Depending on NDT Level, the below are the testing methods requiring certification. An AUT Operator may have 1 or more of the following:
- Radiation Licence (RL)
- Basic Methods
- Dye Penetrant Testing (PT)
- Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
- Advanced Methods
- Eddy Current Testing (ET)
- Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
- Radiographic testing & work safely with ionizing radiation (RT)
- Welding Supervision
- Welding Inspection
- Australian Institute for Certification of Inspection Personnel (AICIP)
- Coatings Inspection
- MFLl Tank Inspection
- Post Weld Heat Treatment
- Phased Array
- TOFD
- API Certified Tank Inspection

Knowledge
- Be familiar with Pipewizard, UT systems
- Have a knowledge of calibration periods for NDT equipment
- Be competent at using equipment on Automated systems
Experience
- Experience with PipeWizard Phased Array AUT system and trained in its set up, use and maintenance
- Experience with onshore pipeline NDT
